Systems Engineer

We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer for a position in Washington, DC to support, optimize, and modernize Microsoft and VMware infrastructure for our customer.

  • You can be available evenings and weekends to resolve operational issues on an as needed basis 
You'll love our Systems Engineer position if...(This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

  • You have a minimum of 5 years specialized systems engineering experience with a BA/BS. Alternatively, 3 to 5 years of specialized experience with a Master's or above
  • You have experience with Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019
  • You have experience with supporting a VMware Vsphere environment
  • You have experience with system monitoring (i.e. SCOM)
  • You have experience with enterprise backup (i.e. CommVault)
  • You have experience operating under a secure environment to include deploying security controls to the Windows operating systems
  • You have an active Top Secret clearance

  • You have a Microsoft certification (MCSA or MCSE)
  • You have a VMware certification (VCP, VCAP or Design Expert)
What your day will look like: (Roles & Responsibilities)
  • You’ll maintain, secure, enhance, and expand our customer's unclassified and classified environments
  • You’ll assist with the documentation, deployment and administration of 24/7 IT systems
  • You'll assist with improving the availability and disaster recovery resilience of our Microsoft and VMWare solutions
  • You’ll assist with the development of Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) associated with system implementation and operation for Tier I resources 
  •  You’ll manage resources hosted on servers such as file shares and applications 
  • You’ll analyze IT issues, evaluate alternatives and make logical recommendations based on findings
  • You’ll define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • You’ll create and maintain operational scripts (i.e. batch, shell, VB, PowerShell)
