Senior VDI Engineer

ClearFocus is looking for a Senior VDI Engineer for one of our federal programs in Suitland, MD to provide design, installation and support services for VDI services. We are looking for a “high energy” candidate of high integrity that is excited to grow with a fast pace company. All applicants must have an active Public Trust and US Citizenship. No third parties!!!

This opportunity is currently 2 days onsite and 3 days remote and may require more days onsite in the future.

Two (2) days per week onsite work required; willingness to work 100% onsite if requirements change.

Primary Responsibilities:
Install/configure hardware and software to provide Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions for our federal client. The projects may span:

Design and deploy virtualization solutions
Create and maintain desktop images
Deploy and maintain application delivery solutions
Monitoring VDI performance
Deploy and update applications on physical desktop PCs.

Primary Skills Required:

At least seven (7) years of Systems Engineering experience.
Experience with enterprise application deployment systems (e.g., Citrix App Layering, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune).
Experience in performing VDI design and troubleshooting with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) / Citrix Cloud Government (CCG), or similar systems.
Deploy and integrate applications into the VDI.
Experience providing system administrative functions to the VDI.
Maintain desktop image repository by uploading and deploying multiple VDI images, e.g. one administrative and one standard user image.
Maintain and manage hardware, server equipment operation and connectivity, and physical and virtual machine technical support services and network devices (in coordination with networks team).
Maintain VDI images, to include patching and monitoring.
Provision VDI desktops, diagnose protocol errors, support load balancers, configure and support user profiles, diagnose Operating System and application errors.
Understand networking, including TCP/IP and QoS.
Assist with Information Assurance Vulnerability patching as required.

Desired:

Bachelor’s degree
Citrix Certification
Expert knowledge of Citrix and VMWare virtualization technologies and VDI technologies

7 years of System Engineering experience (20 years is preferred)

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Social Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical disciplines, or equivalent experience.

Certification Requirements:
Not required. Citrix preferred.
