System Administrator

A Government client requires a system administration position to provide technical support to a wide range of mission forensic systems and infrastructure. Currently, this work is performed by mission team members.

Specifically, the system administrator will:
  • Support GOTS software developed by partner organization: the individual will provide close support to a partner developed capability used by the team.
  • Forensic Kit Support: Provide all the technical support for our forensic kits. This includes uploading and updating our images, updating the forensic library, patching, troubleshooting data ingestion/transfer issues, script writing, hardware installs/upgrades, amongst other things.
  • Platform Support: Provide technical troubleshooting assistance for the forensics and technical analysis mission platform.
  • Hardware Support: When the team obtains new or is required to update hardware, our current team members perform the physical work of installing/updating that gear.
Background/Experience Requirements:
  • Possess the ability to operate in a high-speed environment with changing and evolving mission priorities. Possess the ability to work professionally and seamlessly in a team environment, as well as providing support to officers working remotely. Possess the ability to adapt to change.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing a small Active Directory environment; installing and configuring domain controllers and Windows servers, user and group management, basic GPO configuration
  • Experience performing routine system administration for Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions. Experience managing user and system accounts on Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions
  • Experience troubleshooting system and permissions issues on Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions.
  • Ability to secure Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions according to government standards such as DISA STIGs, NIST Special Publications, or equivalent industry standards.
  • Experience operating and managing VMWARE ESX servers.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure such as switches, routers, and firewalls. 
  • Ability to integrate Linux systems with Active Directory.
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to write extensive BASH scripts to facilitate workflow for users.
  • Ability to write Python programs to facilitate workflow for users.
  • Working knowledge of ZFS. 
  • Experience performing system administration of current Windows and Windows Server versions.
