Job Description:
This Information Systems Security Engineer to provide System Security support to a government customer.
 
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the system owner and primary user of the Security Center (SC) console for Tenable best practices to ensure console capabilities are maximized; implement improvements as required. Perform scans, analyze scan results, map them to IAVAs, and develop reports and dashboards to in order to present data in a fast, easy manner.
  • Host discovery scans, basic network vulnerability scans, credentialed scans of Windows targets, and compliance scans.
  • Conduct periodic review of system compliance with patching and information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVA) and information assurance vulnerability bulletins (IAVB).
  • Perform malicious process detection, advanced analysis and reporting of scan results, integration with patch management solutions.
  • Create customized audits to deliver relevant, accurate information.
  • Comply with and respond to the IC Incident Response Center pertaining to issued IC vulnerability alerts, messages and warnings.
  • Perform scans to verify patching status. Prioritize needs and work with the IT Operations team to ensure patches are implemented accordingly.
  • Perform log aggregation and analysis.
  • Ensure a strong customer focus.
  • Interacts with the customer and other project team members.
Primary Skills Required
  • Experience executing and evaluating scans using Tenable Security Center.
  • Experience testing and scanning classified and unclassified environments at an Enterprise level.
  • Systems security engineering experience providing system and network security engineering support, system and network architecture, IT, communications, and/or Network communications support, such as: Network administration, system administration, programming, applications support, computer operations, customer support and equipment support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CISSP certification
  • CISSP-ISSEP certification
  • Security+ certification preferred
  • Tenable Certified Nessus Auditor (TCNA) certification
  • Tenable Certified Nessus User (TCNU) certification
  • Tenable Certified PVS Auditor (TCPA) certification
  • Tenable Certified Security Engineer (TCSE) certification
  • Tenable Certified Log Manager (TCLM) certification
  • Possesses experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • Experience proactively providing system security support in accordance with NIST 800 series
  • Experience identifying alternatives for meeting controls and developing POAMs
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
  • TS Required; SCI Preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Q/SCI required.
  • May begin work after receipt of TS/Q/SCI clearance.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
