This role will work with the PMO to define, build, test, and support all elements of the Microsoft Project Online enterprise Project Portfolio Management solution. This includes creating and managing an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and configuring and managing the MS Project Online.
Additionally, this resource will be instrumental in maturing the project management practices within the organization, and as such be adept at working through process re-engineering activities and provide guidance/coaching to project managers and teams.
  • Build and manage good, consistent enterprise level Project schedules
  • Design and develop reports using SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
  • Define business requirements for PPM
    • Document business requirements in alignment with the PPM solution
    • Specify PPM requirements in core PPM solution areas
  • Capture Interface requirements and perform high level process design for integrating MS PPM with 3rd party systems (likely ServiceNow)
  • Lead and guide integration of Project Server and ServiceNow to automate flow of schedule and status data between the two systems
  • Configuration of Project Online/PWA
  • Data migration from Microsoft Project to Project Online
  • Testing Project Online against stated business requirements mapped to user profiles and use cases
  • Training end users by role and application administrators on use and support of Project Online
  • Working with the PMO and governance group(s) to develop rollout plans
  • Working with end users ongoing to work through system and process related question, issues and enhancement requests that furthers the PMO’s use of PPM to aggregate and report on performance data
  • Work as a tier 1 and 2 support resource for application and light technical level troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of reporting structures and data access in PWA, including ODATA and use of external data marts/databases to gain timely access to Project Online data for enterprise level reporting
  • Review project artifacts for completeness and quality
  • Produce executive level project performance metrics, status reporting including eCPIC, portfolio management reports, and project dashboards reports
  • Coach/assist Project Managers in developing, maintaining, updating, and re-baselining their schedules; provide training (in person, one-on-one, and/or develop CBTs)
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • BA/BS and 10+ years’ experience
  • Skilled in MS Office,  MS Project Server, Service Now
  • Experience in requirements specification related to PPM
  • Experience deploying and supporting Project Online in multiple client environments
  • Experience setting up and managing use of Project Online for complex enterprises.
  • Expertise in Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile approaches
  • Experience supporting PMO and/or IT Project Management experience
  • Experience with IT Project performance measurement and reporting
